Buckland congratulates Alconex on win at the UK Digital Construction Awards

UtiliMate won the ‘Standout App Award’ at the ceremony.

We are delighted to announce that Buckland portfolio company Alconex Infrastructure and Solutions has been awarded ‘Digital Contractor of the Year’ at the Digital Construction Awards 2025, thanks to their innovative approach to utilising and integrating data into their services.

It was Alconex’s ‘UtiliMate app’ that caught the eye of the judges for the award, as they recognised it as a better way to connect their teams, being a fully digital, agile, and efficient mobile-first solution that creates new growth opportunities across the sector.

The UtiliMate app was developed to simplify interactions in the project management process between multiple providers across different utility sectors. The app, launched at the beginning of the year, enables the Alconex team to plan and execute projects more efficiently and effectively.

The construction and utility sectors have sometimes been prone to relying on traditional ways of planning projects and conducting business, which is why the successful implementation of innovation in these sectors is so welcome. The judges in the ‘Digital Contractor of the Year’ award commended Alconex in particular for their commitment to digitisation and in-house development of the mobile tool. UtiliMate has been well-received by the teams using it, as it reduces the need for lengthy site visits, streamlines their time, and improves communication with their project partners and contractors.

Alconex’s UtiliMate initiative embodies the best values of Buckland, leveraging innovation to drive efficiency and productivity while also delivering sustainable outcomes by fostering a paperless workflow. Congratulations to the Alconex team for all your hard work!
